OmniVision Technologies, the world's leading developer of semiconductor solutions (including advanced digital imaging, analog, touch and display technologies), announced that it will launch the new OP03050 at CES 2024, which is a low-power, small-size liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS) panel that integrates LCOS array, driving circuit, frame buffer and interface in a single chip.
When used in AR, XR and MR, OP03050 provides a high-resolution and immersive experience for real-time video conferencing and streaming media.
Devang Patel, marketing director of the Internet of Things and emerging markets at OmniVision, said: "Smart glasses are the next mobile phone accessory that consumers want, especially when they become more fashionable, smaller and lighter. The high pixel spacing of OP03050 brings users better picture quality and more immersive viewing experience. In fact, although the consumer market is the driving force behind the growth of demand for smart glasses, the more immersive experience makes it useful in B2B applications, such as medical care, engineering and aerospace.
According to reports, the pixel spacing of OP03050 LCOS panel is 3.0 microns, the display resolution is 1560x1200, and the refresh rate is 120 Hz, which has low delay characteristics. It adopts 0.23-inch optical design, adopts small FPCA package and supports 4-channel MIPI-DSI interface. Samples have been provided, and OP03050 will be mass-produced in the second half of 2024.
